Job Description

The Human Resources Assistant will assist in the administration of the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources Department including recruitment, compensation & benefits, employee engagement and labour relations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist with job applicants and schedule interviews.
  • Onboard and welcome new employees to the organization by conducting orientation.
  • Maintain employee information by entering and updating data using appropriate database applications (hard and soft copies).
  • Ensure the company’s grievance and disciplinary procedures are observed and that all relevant documentation is completed.
  • Create and maintain records related to attrition, grievances, disciplinary actions and performance reviews to ensure problem areas are identified and the appropriate action taken in keeping with company objectives.
  • Create and update files for all applicants and employees.
  • Prepare necessary documents and files for all People Success processes.
  • Operate switchboard by answering main telephone lines and transferring calls to appropriate personnel or taking and delivering messages in a timely manner.
  • Maintain confidentiality of Client, staff and company information.
  • Ensure company human resource policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Assist with coordinating and executing social activities and events geared toward employee engagement.
  • Prepare and document paperwork relating to separation and assist with exit interviews.
SKILLS AND KEY COMPETENCIES:
  • Pleasant personality, excellent written and verbal communication
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • High level of competence in MS Office and Google Drive
  • Knowledge of filing and maintenance of records
  • Knowledge of Saint Lucian Labour Laws
  • HR experience would be an asset
  • Associate Degree in human resource management and at least three years’ working as a similar capacity would be an asset
  • Knowledge of Cube Hrms is a plus
  • Able to work without constant supervision.
